The overall leaderboard on MCTiers ranks players across all eight gamemodes at once. It does that with points: every tier you hold is worth a number of points, and your total decides both your overall placement and your title.
Points per tier
| Tier | Name | Points |
|---|---|---|
| HT1 | High Tier 1 | 60 |
| LT1 | Low Tier 1 | 45 |
| HT2 | High Tier 2 | 30 |
| LT2 | Low Tier 2 | 20 |
| HT3 | High Tier 3 | 10 |
| LT3 | Low Tier 3 | 6 |
| HT4 | High Tier 4 | 4 |
| LT4 | Low Tier 4 | 3 |
| HT5 | High Tier 5 | 2 |
| LT5 | Low Tier 5 | 1 |
Points grow fast at the top: Tier 1 is worth 60 or 45 points, while all of Tier 4 and Tier 5 are worth between 1 and 4. If you're new to the HT/LT notation, read Minecraft PvP Tiers Explained first.
How your total is calculated
- For each gamemode you're ranked in, take your tier, or your peak tier if it's higher.
- Look up the points for that tier in the table above.
- Add the points from all your gamemodes together, retired tiers included.
For example, a player who is HT1 in Crystal PvP (60), LT2 in Sword (20) and HT4 in Mace (4) has 84 points. Players with the same total share the same placement on the leaderboard.
Achievement titles
Your title follows your total points and is shown next to your name on the leaderboard and on your profile:
| Title | Points needed |
|---|---|
| Combat Grandmaster | 400+ |
| Combat Master | 250+ |
| Combat Ace | 100+ |
| Combat Specialist | 50+ |
| Combat Cadet | 20+ |
| Combat Novice | 10+ |
| Rookie | Under 10 |
Combat Master needs more than four HT1s' worth of points, and Combat Grandmaster needs more than six, which is why only players who are near the top in several gamemodes ever get there.
How to climb the overall leaderboard
- Go higher before going wider. Moving from HT3 (10) to LT2 (20) in one gamemode is worth as much as five extra HT5s.
- Add gamemodes you're good at. Every gamemode counts, so a solid tier in a second or third gamemode adds up.
- Your peak is safe. If you drop a tier, your peak tier keeps counting for points.
